指揮者を外に連れ出し、人やものの動き、あるいは環境音に対して指揮をしてもらう。我々の行動は本当に本人の自由意志で動いているのだろうか。コントロールしているのかされているのかの境界が曖昧になっていく。そして指揮者自身も本来の環境をひとたび離れると、その効力を失う。環境に動かされるようになる。指揮者の役割が反転されていくようにも見える。また、指揮者の視界の外側を指揮者はコントロールすることができない。指揮や統率にはある一定の方向にしか力が働かないようである。コントロールはある一定のルールや環境の中でしかその効力を保つことができないことを示唆している。ビデオに映る指揮者に対して鑑賞者が抱く感情は、他人事ではないのかもしれない。

Take the conductor outside and ask him to conduct to the movement of people and objects, or to the sounds of the environment. Are our actions really driven by our own free will? The boundary between being in control and being controlled becomes blurred. And the conductor himself loses his effectiveness once he leaves his original environment. He becomes driven by the environment. The role of the conductor appears to be reversed. Also, the conductor cannot control what is outside the conductor's field of vision. Conducting and leading seem to work only in a certain direction. This suggests that control can only remain in force within certain rules and environments. The feelings that the viewer may have towards the conductor in the video may not be a stranger.

A video in which balloons keep inflating and Jenga keeps piling up, each of which blacks out just before its conclusion, making it impossible to watch. Then it loops again. Even if you can't see the endings, it is easy to imagine what happens next in these simple videos. However, when this simple and obvious ending is replaced by another, we are immediately unable to imagine it. The structure is the same as a balloon or Jenga. The sensation of crossing a dangerous and fragile bridge is very difficult to see in the real world. This video is designed to help people learn by watching it again and again, a simple structure that is often forgotten.

2023 年 2 月グループ展 「群馬AIRプロジェクト」群馬県立近代美術館

​

群馬県高崎市にある榛名湖の伝説をテーマにした作品である。榛名湖には湖畔にまつわるさまざまな伝説がある。郷土の伝説の他にも漫画のモデルの地として聖地巡礼に多くの人々が訪れることもある。そんな伝説の集う土地で、毎日欠かさず榛名湖畔を12フィートの木材を持って歩いていたら、自分も榛名湖にまつわる伝説の一つとして加わることができるのではないかと思い、実行した１ヶ月の記録である。毎日湖畔を歩く中で伝説の収集も行った。すると次第に、伝説になりうる現在の榛名湖畔にまつわる実情が明らかになってきた。私自信が伝説に加わるはずが、榛名湖ののちの伝説になりうる「現在の榛名湖の話」をよく知る語り部に自分がなっていることに気がつく。それらの経験をもとにしたインスタレーション作品である。
